Shades for summer!
We recently had the privilege to visit one of Toronto’s elite eyewear shop known as Spectacle on Queen West. Seeing that summer has finally arrived, we only found it fitting to do a report on Sunglasses trends for 2009. We had the chance to pick Esther Whang’s brain on the latest shapes for 2009, info on how to choose what shape best suits your face and the all important rules for taking care of your shades (because we all know that the majority of people place their shades on their heads).
Spectacle was created with a very specific vision: to create a warm and fun environment that caters to Toronto’s hip, urban customer. This store with its ever expanding network carries a veritable who’s who of designer eyewear and sunwear collections. Spectacle supplies Toronto with cutting edge, quality products and has been the proud winner of Now Magazine’s “Best Of” Award in 2006 and 2005. Over the past 33 years, Spectacle’s north location has proudly served the community of Lawrence Park. They have distinguished themselves by carrying quality sought-after designers and providing unrivaled customer service. The Queen Street West location (in the heart of the Art and Design District) was created in 2004 with the same goals in mind. Open concept shelving allows customers to pickup frames and try them on. Illuminated sunglass shelves display the tints and highlight the intricate colours in the frames.
As a result, it is only fitting that we approach Spectacle for an insiders look into 2009 Sunglasses trends:
