buttoned up or down…
Let’s make this as clear and as straight-forward as possible: every man, yes every man needs to have at least a couple classic white dress shirts.
It should be a staple in every man’s wardrobe. This necessity is a classic among young and old, cool and conservative looking men. Going into the office or into a business meeting with a nice, crisp looking white dress shirt oozes confidence and exudes panache. It can be treated as a canvas board when it comes to putting together a look: wear it with any colour of neck wear (tie or bow tie) and with any colour of suits. See, that is the brilliance of this menswear staple, the versatility of it can offer so much to a man. Now, don’t get fooled now. It doesn’t have to be all about business! Unbutton the top buttons, match it with a pair of chinos (shirt un-tucked), a pair of Con’s or Lanvin sneakers, sleeves rolled up and top it off with a nice pair of Ray-Ban aviators (gold or silver rimmed, whatever your mood)…and you have yourself a relaxed and well traveled man. But keep in mind: please, no over sized shirts. That defeats the whole purpose of this essential. Make sure it’s fitted to your body. The sleeves should not be hanging from your arms, the shirt should not be so long to the point where it looks like a dress, and most importantly: the material on the underarm should not be drooping down!
Whether the price is recession proof or the price is in the 3-digits range…any respectable man will have this basic in his wardrobe.
