Toronto’s First

All-Filipino Stand-up Comedy Showcase

On Saturday August 28, 2010, Flippin’ Funny (www.flippinfunnyshow.com) will bring together the funniest Filipino comedians across North America at The Courthouse (57 Adelaide St. E) in downtown Toronto.

“First and foremost, expect a hilarious show; these comedians are extremely funny,”

Flippin’ Funny will definitely have an urban feel to it as all the comics were born in Canada or the U.S.  Although the show appeals to Filipinos born here, many others will relate because Toronto is such a multicultural city. They either have Filipino friends or grew up in a household where their parents came from another country.” said Neil Bansil, creator and producer.

The humorous all-Filipino line-up includes:

·         Joey Guila – San Francisco (P.Diddy’s Bad Boy of Comedy)

·         Ron Josol – Toronto (Just for Laughs)

·         Kevin Camia – San Francisco (Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham)

·         Keith Pedro – Toronto (Yuk Yuk’s)

The inaugural show will be hosted by Neil Bansil (The Most RACES Show on Earth!) and feature the Filipino dance crew C2 Genesys and music by DJ J-Class.

No stranger to ethnic comedy, Neil Bansil is also the creator and producer of Toronto’s most innovative and entertaining multicultural comedic showcase, The Most RACES Show on Earth! (www.mrsoe.com).

With the population hovering around 200,000 in the Greater Toronto area, Filipinos are the now fourth largest visible minority. Many have made their mark in arts and cultural platforms around the city. This summer, expect another mark to be made with a laugh or two.

Flippin’ Funny takes place Saturday August 28, 2010 at The Courthouse (57 Adelaide St. E) in downtown Toronto. The doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the show starts at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $20.00 or $18.00 for groups of six or more. For tickets, please visit www.ticketweb.com.
