 A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of being invited out to the Thompson Hotel for a little rendezvous with the P&G team and special guest Mr. Dan Trepanier of “The Style Blogger“. The purpose of my visit? To get a first hand look at Gillette’s latest innovation the Fusion ProGlide Styler. Any style publication worth their weight in gold will tell you that looking your best is a quintessential necessity in todays world. One side of looking your best comes in the way of what you wear, which is why P&G had style maven Dan Trepanier on site to touch upon some of the latest fashion trends such as the whole global phenomenon of online shopping and the emergence of what he calls “fast fashion”. On the flip side to looking your best comes personal grooming which is where the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler comes in. What the people at Gillette have done, quite successfully I might add, is create a product for the everyday man that is compact, efficient, durable and easy to use. The Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler is a shaving and trimming system all in one. It has a built-in trimmer with 3 varying levels to help maintain the perfect 12 o’clock shadow.  Trim evenly, shave closely and edge accurately! They’ve also finally come out with a clear, no-foam shave gel perfect for people with facial hair so they can actually see where they are shaving. This product is most definitely Freshly Certified! Fusion ProGlide Styler will have a suggested retail price of $24.99 and the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Clear Shave Gel will have a suggested retail price of $7.50.

No product launch is official without a great ad campaign and it would seem that Gillette spared no expense in this department given that they got musician and fashion designer André 3000 Benjamin, Actor Gael García Bernal and Academy Award Winning Actor Adrien Brody as their brand ambassadors.

The eclectic trio selected to debut the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler were chosen because they best represent “Masters of Style” – true facial hair stylers who have tremendous talent, a strong sense of self, depth of character, and authentic style. All three men will appear in an integrated marketing campaign, including television and print advertising, digital media and public relations, beginning in February 2012.
