Raf Simons x Fred Perry Spring/Summer 2013 Collection Preview

It would seem that in the world of fashion everyone and their mother is doing “collaborations”. Brands are collaborating with artists, celebs, bloggers and everyone in between. Fact is most of these so called collaborations are more intended as a publicity stunt vs actually producing something of quality. So as one can imagine it is rare when two brands meet and create something truly worth noticing. Fortunately for us, the long held marriage between Fred Perry and Raf Simons proves that there are just a few pockets of genius still left in this overplayed media circus. Announcing their eighth definitive apparel collaboration here is a glimpse into the anticipated collection that will be launched during Paris Men’s Fashion week early July 2012. The collection consisting of 28 styles will feature various traditional menswear patterns in electric colours and prints. Classic pieces are adorned with checks, crest and pied de poule, floral print and camouflage in contrast colours. Prints will be blown up out of proportion until they almost lose their identity.
The classic Fred Perry polo is a stand-out piece of the collection with a detachable double collar in different prints and colours. Eclectic combinations will be the driving force behind the collection. Other key pieces include contrast panelled shirts, city shorts, printed scarves, classic and checked pants, and a bomber jacket with detachable collar in both navy and black check.
This collection will be available at www.fredperry.com beginning February 2013.

Nice to see designers bring out loud patterns for men. Since guys are always looking to exude confidence, one quick way is to be able to pull off bold colors.
