Around May, 2011 Bryan Espiritu of Legends League put on a much anticipated Solo art show at 99 Sudbury called Because the Kids Don’t Play. The show was not only a great success for Bryan but a proud moment for Toronto as it celebrated one of its own. Today, Bryan is back with a new piece to add to his collection of work that continues to celebrate the ideal of being Young forever.
I started “Forever Young” months ago. It was originally supposed to be the hero piece for my next solo artshow under my “Fully Wholly” collection. It represented a character’s unwillingness to let go of his young heart, the heart that kept those around him happy, even while he deteriorated and crumbled under the weight of his burdens. I never finished that piece. – Bryan Espiritu
